Top Tips for Tourists from Sprinter Rental NYC: Part 1

Sprinter Rental NYC is a company that is based in New York City. We have employees and drivers who have lived and worked in the Big Apple their whole lives.

When it comes to tips, the best ones to ask are the locals. And Sprinter Rental NYC fits the bill.

A lot of Sprinter Rental NYC customers from out of town ask us how to behave in the Big Apple. And here is what we always tell them.

1. Forget about the New York City that you see on TV.

The Big Apple is a big city, but that does not mean that it is a dangerous place. New York City is probably one of the safest places to visit. Of course, you will still need to use your common sense such as avoiding taking walks alone at 4 a.m. But generally, NYC is a safe place.

What's more, people here are not rude. So go ahead, do not be afraid to ask for direction if you feel a little lost.

2. It is always good to eat early.

Eating out for most New Yorkers means having dinner at around 8 pm to 10 pm. If you do not like the crowds, then be sure to eat early so that you do not end up getting hungry or waiting outside the restaurant for your seats.

3. Tipping.

Speaking of eating out, always tip generously at restaurants. Most waiters and servers are generally underpaid, so they do rely on your tips to make ends meet. It is customary to give 15% to 20% of your bill as a tip.

However, do check if the restaurant has already included the tip in your bill in the form of service charge or gratuity. There are some restaurants that do this if you have more than five people in your group, or if you dine somewhere within the tourist areas.
